Plains of Busai, Book Four Update

Hello.

With the exception of the final chapter, Book Four is ready for editing.

I expect the final chapter to be complete on the 16th of July. Then begins consistency and grammar checking, and all the fun stuff that goes with that. :)

Though a lengthy time was needed to put this together, it had to be set off to the side a few times to make sure it was laying the proper foundation for Books Four, Five, and Six. There are many go-forward tie-ins that had to be set in place. (Yet the story in Book Four stands on its own and does not require knowledge of the Antrana Trilogy.)

As readers of Book Three know, I enjoy pulling in multiple storyline threads and individual's perspectives to a convergence of events -- and sometimes, from a convergence of events. I am quite pleased with how this occurs in Book Four.

On a related note, the wonderful talent of Michael Manning (metalweb ) continues to amaze and delight. He has finished the cover for Book Six ! I expect that he'll have it posted on his LJ site shortly -- I'll hook a link from here to there when I see it.

The plot outline for Book Five is complete; the sketch for Book Six is now ready to be expanded to a plot outline.

Ah, it feels great when it all works together!

I realized the other day that I'm involved in many current activities that could be categorized as "major."

As the PartyMeister for the Texas Latex Party (www.TexasLatexParty.com) I've got regular Board Meetings, communications, finance, scheduling, and coordination tasks that happen on a regular, frequent basis. This will be the fourth TLP that I've run. What makes this possible is an extremely talented team of volunteer Board Members that specialize in one or more specific areas. March 2009 will be the 17th Annual event. We have increased our number of international attendees, which adds to the wonderful mix of die-hard fetishists.

The Busai Trilogy has been difficult to finish -- primarily because of two things:
(1) a lack of long blocks of time to write (because my regular job has been extremely time consuming since about June 2008) and
(2) too many ideas in my head to cover. Yes, it is the opposite of the dreaded "writer's block." I actually tossed out seventy pages of text because the story was not proceeding in the direction I wanted, and re-started Chapter Six- onward. And, possibly, I'm spending too much effort fretting about making it really good and worthy of buying and reading, versus, just letting my creativity flow. I had planned to utilize the Thanksgiving Day holidays to finish the draft of Book Four -- but I caught a mild cold due to allergies and did not feel perky enough to write. Blah.

I'm also doing the Marketing & Communications for the National Leather Association - Houston's Spring Iniquity leather event in April 2009. (www.SpringIniquity.com) which entails doing all the website work and flyers and posters. And for NLA-Houston I re-wrote the Policies and Procedures and ByLaws.

FiestyVixen and I did a demonstration/class at a bdsm/kink club in New Orleans, LA, also, on "The Dainty Art of Waterboarding" and on "Breath Control." We're going to re-peat that at Beyond Leather, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida -- which is also in April 2009.

Not to leave another weekend vacant, in the first part of April 2009, I'm probably attending Frolicon, Atlanta, GA. I've secured the back-page cover of the Event Program for an Erskan Chronicles advertisement, and will try to hook up with a vendor to do book sales.

And two weeks ago, I participated in the Central Texas Kink Pony Jamboree, a weekend of fun with human pony-play. I won two ribbons -- a 3rd and 4th place in the three events of which I entered. It was a blast.

Anyhow, I still plan to get Book Four done before 31 December 2008. I've already the Fall 2008 publishing deadline (very embarassing) and will try to get Book Five out for the Spring 2009 publishing deadline. I know what the overall story arcs are for each of the nine books... that has been sketched and correlated with intersecting time-lines. But I'm probably too picky about it for my own good. And I think overall, this is a good thing !

The fabulously fantastical artwork from Michael Manning for Book Four has arrived at the publisher.

He has moved the art-style to a different plane. It captures elements of the earlier anime-ish Antrana Trilogy covers, book covers from the earlier GOR series (I cannot recall the artist that did those), and Frank Frazetta's book cover art. It is absolutely gorgeous art!

I will share it here in the next few days. In the meantime, there is good progress on Book Four, and I expect the first draft to be completed within forty-five days. Thanks to all of you that have been writing suggestions and comments. There are several pieces within Book Four that are directly attributable to reader's suggestions and requests. I feel that if it is a good idea, why not incorporate imaginative ideas where possible? For example, one reader wrote "I'd like to see a 'scene' where this kind of BDSM torture is involved." I had a scene already planned, but instead wiped-out the notes and will modify.

Lube Wrestling @ Beyond Leather (Florida)

The majority of my Live Journal postings are about my Sci-Rotic, BDSM FemDom trilogy; rare is the post about my many travels to kink/fetish/leather events. This is an exception.

This past weekend I had the absolute privilege of escorting fiestyvixen2010 to the debut of Beyond Leather, a south Florida event with the goals to "... unite old guard, new leather and TNG (the next generation), all coming together to teach, learn and grow within the lifestyle. We are reaching out to the entire pansexual community all over the nation to join us in this effort." The planning was excellent and the execution of the activities and logistics was flawless (at least to the guests, which is the real measure of success).

I was reunited with many friends in the lifestyle from all over the USA. Fiestyvixen2010 was burning-hawt in her fetish outfits (about six completely different outfits for various events) and we did a couple of great scenes at the wondrous on-site play parties. (needles, nerf-bat). Normally, writing that I participated in being a pin-cushion would be the high-light of the weekend, because I am, frankly, still freaked-out by needles. But Saturday night trumped alot of things.

One of the "Theatres" for Beyond Leather was listed in advance as follows:

"Tag Team Lube Wrestling

Everyone grab your tickets and come join us for a fun filled tag team lube wrestling match between Master Z, Mark Frazier, Master Conrad and Thor. This will prove to be one of the fun and exciting highlights of the entire event.

Approximately 45 minutes of fun grappling and wrestling between four VERY HOT and handsome men, a VERY sexy ring master, Victoria Gayton and one long cool drink for a referee, Ray Castro (fanning self) I’m getting the very first ticket.

A few lucky people will get a chance to lube the contestants up with bare hands and lots of lube. WOW.. does it get any better than that?

We expect these tickets to sell out very quickly so get them while they are hot. K@ren M. will be selling all theater tickets at the Beyond Leather event.   All money raised will go towards a fund raiser that will be announced later."

Unfortunately for a number of attendees, the snafu with wiring inspections on American Airlines caused flight cancellations and the inability of certain presenters to make it to Florida. Fiestyvixen2010 and I were sitting in the audience at the Lube Wrestling Theatre when the judge walked up and said, "Master Z & Mark Frazier could not get to Florida, and Thor is running late. Will you let 'fav' lube wrestle with Master Conrad?"

I looked over across the room and saw Master Conrad standing behind a speakers podium. Well, actually, "standing" is not quite the word..."hulking" is more descriptive. He stands at about 6' 5" and approximately 270 lbs. I'm at 6' 1" and 178 pounds when wet, and was suffering from Florida allergies, having taken two different antihistimines and a tube of Halls' cough drops within a few hours. But that didn't matter. I'm rarely fazed or intimidated by size, though Master Conrad has an outstanding reputation as a nice guy (and a seriously capable defensive tactics instructor). Mentally, I recalled ancient knowledge of fighting skills and eyed his joints and pressure points and looked for weaknesses.

Four-feet wide by forty-foot sheets of thick white plastic sheeting was previously stretched on the hotel room carpet floor over 1/2-inch "gym" padding, making about a 40 x 40 wrestling zone. A children's inflatable swimming pool was also previously inflated and sat at one end of the wrestling zone. They made announcements to the audience while I stripped to a latex thong (latex, what else) about no kicking, etc. and that volunteers would be appreciated, either to wrestle or to help lube the participants.

The pool was easily one-half inch filled with gooey-looking "ID" brand sex lubricant. I went "first" and gingerly stepped into the tube-o'-goo, kneeling close to the ground. Slippery! Oh, yes, very slippery. I got to my knees and took handfuls of lube and rubbed in on my arms. A volunteer came up behind me and she helped splash lube on my back and neck and arms and legs. My hair and face were dry, but that was all -- I was slimy.

I crawled over the edge of the pool and onto the center floor.

Master Conrad, wearing a sort-of-trunk swimsuit, crawled into the pool and rolled around in it. Obviously, he's done this before. First lesson to self: roll around in it.

He came out, crawled to the middle, got on his knees and faced me.

The audience was shouting cheers. Conrad waited for me to do something, and feigned only a simple move, but didn't go anywhere. I sighted in on his wrists and looked to where I could grab his right hand, pull the thumb-side down, and rotate it around to bring him to the mat.

Which had a chance of working -- if my hands were not frictionless.

Remember, I'm not intimidated, so I decided to go first. I moved to his left side, tried to push one of his legs out and pull him forward. Didn't work too well, because he moved forward, but put his giganti-arm out and wrapped it under my arms, encircling my torso. That didn't work too well for him, because being all lubey, I pulled forward and rolled 180-degress and popped out on the other side. And I laughed.

It was as though I had been a small rabbit doing a hop-through-the-hoop thing.

If you haven't wrestled with anyone in a while, you may not recall how exhausting it is. And there's a loss of the sense of time. I am not sure what the total duration of our "match" was, but it was probably around 7 - 10 minutes. Several times I had my arms around one of his arms and around his body, only to have him physically slide me off, over his bald head, and into thin air. Some times he had me dead-to-rights by being on top and pushing my shoulders downward, but I was able to slip his grasp by rotating and extricating myself back to the floorspace. It was just so hard to grab any body part. I realized that my traditional training in pressure points and such meant "nothing" when it came to being completely slippery, and that there was only one true advantage -- body mass. Of which I was 100 pounds out-classed.

Laughing through much of the wrestling itself, I broke and was winded, breathing hard. I looked at Master Conrad, who was also heaving some air chunks. At least it was a respectable match. And fun. Lots and lots of fun. We engaged again and I went for an ankle to pull up and rotate him, but he rest back on his ass and then my knees slipped out below me and I went too low. He reached forward and basically squished me. I tried to roll over to flip out, but since he had seen that manuever three or four times before, he knew it was coming and he planted an arm block straight down to the plastic mat that prevented me from completing the roll-out. He effectively stopped my escape and I trapped myself. Then he just crushed my shoulders down and I was dead. I was guilty of using the same tactic too often, and Master Conrad was perceptive and used it against me.

It was a blast. But not over.

I retreated to a corner as another volunteer prepared for battle. This guy was about 5' 10", maybe 210 pounds. Average shape. He and Master Conrad engaged. While they wrestled, I realized that during one escape through Master Conrad's arms, I got a wave of lubricant that flushed itself into my mouth. "Next time we need flavored lube," I told the people around me, to a few laughs. Initially I planned to wipe the lube from my mouth, but my hands were covered in the stuff. I looked at my hands and realized that they dripped the stuff off just by lifting them to the air... it was like a sfx scene from "Alien" where the protoplasmic goo drips off the teeth of the stomach-nesting monster. So, wiping off monster goo with more monster goo wasn't going to work well. I saw a dry spot on the plastic sheeting near the edge and wiped my lips on the "ground"...which was probably funny looking.

To my satisfaction, the newcomer lasted about the same amount of time that I did -- maybe a minute less. Again, it's hard to guess duration, and nobody was keeping score or timing. It was just fun! Conrad did pull off the man's thong, which got the crowd roaring, and Conrad delivered a couple of teasing spankings to the naked-ass man.

I was still doing the "wish I could breath more air" thing, but was ready to go at it again. Then Thor arrived. Thor has the "International Male" catalog body and this Nordic-style frame, with long hair stolen from a beach-side shampoo/conditioner billboard. He stripped to a white fabric thong, half-dived into the pool-o'-goo, and then wrung out a litre of goo from his hair. We did a hand-shake. We didn't delay, as we both pretty much went after each other right away.

Thor came in fresh and ready, and I still could have used at least another few minutes to catch my breath -- but what the hell. It was all for fun. He was aggressive and we both tried to grab onto a body part; however, he also extended a foot to try to push out my leverage. We grabbed onto each other, spun around, and both popped out. We quickly engaged again, and I got over on him for a moment, but then he rolled around and I was on the bottom. We both did a leg dance, trying to get one another's legs over the other, but that didn't work, so we separated again. There was a female nearby that kept shouting encouragement at him and saying something about "tapping out." Which was funny, because I had forgotten about the tap the ground three times to signal you were dead. I'm frankly glad she said that, because I was going to need that soon.

We engaged a couple of more times, but I could already tell that this was going to be over quickly. He had almost got my legs locked up by his twice, and once when I was rolling, he almost got his knees around my waist. That signaled to me that he had a plan, and that I was in danger. It did not occur to me to use the same tactic. At about the three minute point (again, a guess), I was on top of him in the Missionary position. It seemed like a good idea, but it all failed dramatically. His feet came up on either side of me, he crossed his ankles in front of my stomach, and rolled me like a rag doll to the side, where I slammed on my left shoulder. And then he crushed me with unyielding energy reminiscent of Suzanne Sommer's Thigh Master. The female voice nearby said, "He'll tap out."   And she was completely correct. All I knew was that my spleen, liver, intestines, and chunks of vertabra were about to come spewing from my skin. I didn't even have time to think about an escape plan -- just to give up. I tapped the ground with my free hand. Yes, "He'll tap out." Hell, frakkin' yes!   haha.   That completely stunned me. Ah, live and learn.

So I ass-slid over to the corner to watch the next bout, which frankly, I cannot recall if it was Master Conrad/Thor or Thor/Volunteer. There was significant body flips and thong-removal, and then there was Thor/Volunteer or Master Conrad/Thor. Before anyone had any ideas, I scooted over to the pool and grabbed the first of five large towles to wipe off the lube. A volunteer graciously helped with that also. When done, I was no longer covered with a quarter inch of the stuff, but only an 1/8 of an inch! Also, note to self: being completely lube-encased means you cannot sweat effectively from your pores, meaning you can get overheated.

We all got a nice round of applause from the attendees. Several nice people came up and said it was fun to watch and that I did a good job. I went up to Master Conrad and, fully knowing the answer in advance, said, "Thanks. Are you okay?" in the "I didn't hurt you too much, did I" vein of humor. I think it took him a second to get that subtle joke because, of course, he was certainly not crushed by my body weight. He had a genuine smile and said, "Anytime."

I zipped up to the hotel room and washed. And learned another thing: EROS Pur BodyGlide will stick to your body, and the shower, and towels, and your hair, and your bar of soap forever...but ID Lube will wash off! It was startling -- because I expected to be sticky for hours. However, it was completely gone. I changed and headed back to the large dungeon area.

The original plans for the night was for to do Waterboarding and followed by body punching (fists and lead-filled leather gloves). So I was very appreciative of fiestyvixen2010 for allowing me to do the Lube Wrestling as a last-minute stand-in. I have to mention that she did check with Master Conrad while I was getting ready, to be sure that there was not anything like "the loser gets fu(ked in the ass by the winner" to occur. So I was appreciative of her checking on that, too!

We had previously requested and received approval from the rope/shibari people to use their medical backboard. I retrieved that and put in on two chairs in the dungeon in the "messy area." Basically, they took plastic sheeting and covered the floors and 5 feet of the lower part of the walls on one end of the rectangular room. Fiestyvixen2010 allowed me to use nose-plugs. Then we got started with the waterboarding.

Oh, I was also allowed to fill up a classic hotel pitcher of water from the bathroom (instead of the typical ice-cold water).

I striped to the latex thong (I like that; see a trend?) and was strapped to the backboard. Then my stainless steel wrist manacles were tied to the board. After a few mis-fires with a leather strap for the forehead, we solicited help from Lord B------ to hold my head down. Now, this is the second time that fiestyvixen2010 and I have done waterboarding, so we already had an idea of how to approach it more effectively. She began with the wet-rag in the mouth thing, stuffed it down, and poured a bit of water on my face to get us started. Then she poured more and we got going.

With my left hand holding the "oh dear god stop" shirt to frantically flail, we did more of the wet-rag thing, and then she progressed to the plastic sheet...which really sucks. She placed it on my face and poured water -- which I can handle for 10 - 15 seconds. Then she put the small hole in it, placed it over my mouth, and started in earnest. That is REALLY REALLY hard to withstand. You either breath out to push away the incoming water -- cuz it will run up your nose, but when you are out of air, you have to breath in, which m eans you get water in your nose and mouth. (Hence the whole "torture" adjective.)

We did this several times -- I think maybe five? On the second one, I had a bit of bile come up, which changed the tone of the subsequent attempts because it became acidic-tinted, which didn't happen on our first experiment with this several weeks earlier. She wasn't satisfied until I gave her the password to log-on to my computer, which I really did. But she had to verify that with a subsequent drowning -- er, attempt at gaining information. We were done, thankfully. If I had felt better going in, we would have done it more, but my allergies were continuing to hammer at me. Apparently we had a small group of 30 - 40 people watching, but I did not notice. It was just fun!

We cleaned the area and then tried to do the punching scene. I was tired, but wanted to do it. We got started, and she threw about twenty punches, maybe thirty. But that was it. I was "toast" and just didn't have the juice.    It was a great night already, and more than a "success."

The next day, Sunday, several people came up to me and said, "Oh, you were the guy in the lube wrestling. You did great!" and "That was fun watching last night!"

Isn't that funny? We went to the lube wrestling Theatre, anticipating watching slippery guys slide around, and it was me that got into the "ring." It was a blast and I offer my thanks to fiestyvixen2010 for allowing me to do it, and to the "competitors" that allowed me to join in with them.

The first complete write-up of Mountains is almost complete.

Only a few pages remain to finish. Then it goes under the "revision" stage which will take 2 - 3 weeks, hopefully. This schedule depends on my work commitments and a potential January heavy travel schedule. Mountains, Book #3, has come together so nicely that a big smile covers my face when I think about it.

A Book Signing for #2, Seas of Antrana, is in the works locally at a Female-Dominant/male sub group (think: target market), for the middle of January. This is a wonderful offer by the Women in Charge there!

Seas of Antrana Update

Hello.

Seas of Antrana went to the Publisher today for the first 'proof.'

I am looking forward to getting this to press! Many people have talked to me in person and sent e-mails asking "Hey, where's that second book?" The good news is that Book Three is more than 50% written already. The delay between Two and Three will be shorter than the delay between the first two.

The cover art for Book Three was received in final form today, too!

It has been a pleasure working with Michael Manning on the cover art. I've enjoyed meeting him in-person twice and being allowed the honor of seeing his studio -- the beautiful art that plasters his walls is inspiring.

Let me tell you about one brief moment. We were discussing the concept for Book Three. I suggested something along the lines of Tural, with an above-ground view, and her swinging a whip around to make a circle that was somewhat reflective of the two background gradient circles Michael used. Michael went over to a sketch book and, in about forty-five seconds, made two instantaneous sketches. The quality of these were better than what I could do if I spent five hours and used up six erasers! I tell you, one of my favorite things to do is watch an expert at work -- and Michael demonstrated true talent. Wow.
